The chorus line “was my fate set in stone, or just one thread in the great wide unknown?” Is definitely talking about the layers in the simulation and all the “alternate realities” and I think it could be Lynri reflecting on her life but it could also be Neil reflecting on his beginning as he would’ve definitely seen how things could’ve turned out (i.e. Lynri with lines like: “I dream of lavender fields back when it all felt so real” being her reflecting on before she knew the world was a simulation, and “Instead of counting down the days waiting for the current to pull me out from under” referring to her illness and the inevitability of it killing her (but this could also be Neil?). I’m devastated this song isn’t in the offical game it’s just beautiful, but from which character’s perspective are the lyrics based? What do you think? Any proof/disproof of this theory I missed? So in games like To The Moon and Finding Paradise, was it actually the memory transversal machine that killed Johnny and Colin? They did die literally straight after Eva and Neil were finished transversing their memories. Maybe when Sigmund Corp got hold of the machine it was still any early model that killed its users but that was considered irrelevant because their patients were dying anyway. using the machine to fulfil a dying persons final wish.

The lines from some of the investors in this scene being “What good is a memory interfacing machine if it kill the user?” And “Whats even the point of memory interfacing if they die in the process?” “Well.” seemed to be hinting that the machine DOES have a purpose and that purpose could be using the machine right before someone is going to die anyway ie. (Okay so I’m assuming that by “tested the machine” the game is referring to being the user who’s memories are being accessed and not someone like Eva or Neil who goes into the memories of someone else)Ībout an hour into Act II at the Haynes and Yu facility we hear that Louie tested the Memory Interfacing Machine in Lynri’s place and died.
